gwendal738-2 (Hace 1 mes) #52364848Guys please help me, does anyone know about Amiami's change regarding delivering to 6 digit postal code addresses?
I received this in my email today:
    Dear Customer,
We are sorry to inform you that your 5 digits Postal Code cannot be accepted anymore as a valid postal code at our Store.
From now on, we will be able to process only orders whose address includes the new 6 digits postal code number.
Please kindly reply to this email within seven days and includes the new 6 digits postal code number as we are unable to ship your order to the above address.
Should we be unable to confirm the issue with you, your order will unfortunately require cancellation.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
    Sincerely,
    AmiAmi
Like what the hell? I've been ordering from them for the past 2 years and never had this problem until now! Can anyone tell me about this change? Does this mean they can only ship to certain countries now? The country im living in only has 5 digit postal codes!

In case your country is France:
I've recently sent back an item to Mandarake, and I've noticed on the shipping invoice that the "Deposit Office" (Bureau de dépôt) section had been automatically filled with a new 6-digit postal code instead of the usual 5-digit one.
So I think there exist now 6-digit codes for France in case of international packages.
If you're in that case, I agree with ROBERT18 : go to your local post office and ask for its 6-digit postal code.

robert18 (Hace 1 mes) #52422085I have not read of anything like that. Maybe this sound really obvious but, call your local post office and ask for info about it, they have to know something or at least can give you advice.

tharglet (Hace 1 mes) #52423110Might help to mention which country, just in case someone local to you has more info of what AmiAmi might be on about.

Thank you guys for your help. I'll get someone to call the local post office since I don't speak the language and asking in English gets a little bit difficult.

I don't know if there would even be anyone on here except me, but I live in Cambodia.

That's the problem though - they accepted my order up until the payment, and then suddenly sent me this email after I had already paid them. If you did a pre-order, they're not going to tell you this information until you've actually paid - so I suggest contacting Amiami now and confirm with them whether they can still ship to your five digit postal code address or not.

Okay, I just got back from the real time chat customer support. For anyone who needs IMMEDIATE answer to their worries, I highly advice you to use that service, it's the best. This is my second time using them already, and they've helped me with absolutely no problems at all.

Apparently, there was a confusion. The issue is that they are no longer accepting five digit postal codes if you choose to ship via DHL. There's no problem if it's EMS or other methods of shipping.

Phew. Glad that was the issue and I was saved either a 1 hour trip to the post office or getting someone to help me communicate while it's finals week and all my students are stressed lmfao.

Eh, you'd be surprised sometimes. No personal experience though.

My research does show that Cambodia has 5 digit postcodes, but the post office site does also list commune codes, which are 6 digits. So not sure, but it could be this that DHL want.

But sounds like it isn't an issue for you. If you do need to use DHL at some point, might be easier to try messaging DHL to ask lol.

    Omg... seriously?? You're amazing, i didnt even know where to begin researching the postal codes. XD and yeah, it isnt an issue as of rn since i dont really plan on using DHL for anything, but you'd think they'd put up an announcement for that at least. >>;;;

amiami declares only the price of the items on the package, or does it also add the cost of the shipment to that price, thus making a total price?

I believe it's just the price of the items, not including the shipping.

Looking at my latest dispatch notice from Ami-Ami, the shipping amount is a separate field from the total value of the contents. This was at least for what they used shipping to the US.

In my experience, it's always just the cost of the items - they never include the shipping cost on the customs form.

For unregistered shipments they use the CN22 form, which does not have a space for the postage cost, and therefore isn't listed. For registered shipments they use the CN23, which does have the postage cost on the second page, which they do fill out. And they'll put the postage cost THEY paid, not the one you paid, which can be annoying if it is slightly more.

If you're interested in seeing a version of the customs form(s) from AA with personal details removed, feel free to quote me and ask.

I'm interested in buying from AmiAmi from now on, but what bothers me right now as a new customer is the fact they won't provide a cost estimate for the shipping until you place your order. I'm one who plans ahead and saves money for specific figures. Right now, the best I could do is take a look at their chart for EMS shipping, which I've always picked for figure shipping so far. What if I want to try DHL for my next figure? Is it appropriate to place the order, wait until I receive the total cost, and cancel the order after I note it for a future purchase? If not, I'll just figure out their EMS shipping costs charts.

Are you looking at pre-orders? If so, they won't provide any shipping quotes until the figure is released.

AmiAmi doesn't allow cancellations of orders. (If you ask, they may cancel for you but you risk being banned)

No, it's for an already-released figure. Anyway, I think it will be simpler to just go with EMS and look at their charts.

If the figure is already released, you can just send them an e-mail and ask them how much the shipping costs would be approximately when using so and so shipping method.

I think it's somewhere in their FAQ that states they can provide shipping estimates for items which have been released if you e-mail them about it.

I've done it before and they were quick to reply back, so if you want to play safe, just send them an e-mail :)

Is anyone else having trouble loading up the AmiAmi site on mobile?

I know it usually takes a while to load anyways but these past few days it hasn't been loading at all. The little animated dot in the middle of the screen just keeps going and going and going. I've had the screen open for like 10 minutes now >>

Wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this bug on AmiAmi...

    Basically I pre-ordered this figure
    ITEM #709796
    www.amiami.com/...

She is released now and it's even marked as "Released" on AmiAmi's product page, but shows up as "Not in-stock" on my order page. It also turns out people have already paid for her more than 2 days ago. Also not too long ago she had a delay from Feb to March. Everyone else received the delay notification other than me. I had to email AmiAmi requesting for them to move the item out of my February order and March where it should be (their system was supposed to already do this automatically), so it's as if their system doesn't detect the Kurumi figure within my orders for some reason. I'm really worried and hoping they still have one reserved for me :(

Anyone noticed the figure discount Amiami usually gives is now less than before? Now Hobbysearch is the cheapest place to shop. I don’t know what is going on with Amiami and their discounts. For example, Alter figure and now Nendoroirds. I am officially switching all my Preorders over to Hobbysearch now. I will still keep my preorder that I already have on Amiami, but I will probably no longer be making orders from Amiami from now on.
