- Good until you need their helpI had been using their service for years, and luckily I never had a problem with my orders before. I have never purchased pre-orders with them, so I can't say how they are in that department, I have always used them to buy in stock items from Surugaya or Amazon mostly. A while ago they changed their service fees for two "plan" options, one for 300 JPY and one for 700 JPY.
I had used their 300 JPY service with no problem, but now one of my orders got lost by my post office, and sice I paid their "cheap" plan, they refuse to fill a claim with Japan Post, which is required for me to get a refund for my order that was send by EMS.
So, be aware that if you go for their cheapest option, even if your shipping is insured, it doesn't mean anything, they won't help you and you will lose both your items and money.
- Beware of FROM JAPAN Co., Ltd.FROM JAPAN Co., Ltd. claims that an item I had purchased was prohibited from international shipment. I asked them to provide proof and they could not provide me with anything. I did my own research on Japan Post's website and the item was not on their prohibited list. The same item had been sold by AmiAmi and despite providing all this information, they refused to ship the item to me or provide a refund. This isn't the first time I had to deal with their terrible customer service but I find this absolutely unacceptable and they have lost me as a customer. What stops FROM JAPAN Co., Ltd. from claiming an item is prohibited from international shipment? I basically ended up pay for an item that they can keep for free.
- From JapanThis is the second proxy service I have used, so I don't have much to compare it to. Overall everything went smooth and the price is reasonable. The only complaint I have is about the packaging. I ordered a single wall scroll and it arrived in a package that was damaged pretty badly. The box was bent in the middle and the edges were mashed. It was not necessarily due to careless handling during shipment, but rather the quality of the box itself. Thanks to all the bubble wrap the scroll wasn't damaged, but it was a very close call. I will probably not use From Japan again as I might not be as lucky a second time. I hope they at least use better boxes when shipping figures.
- My Go-To ProxyFromJapan is the cheapest shopping service that I know of. For every order, I choose the "Basic Forwarding Plan" which is 300 yen per order/seller/store & the cheapest domestic shipping option with no tracking. All items were ordered within the same day or within 24 hours (depending on the time that I made the charge 1 payment). Once all the items arrived at their warehouse, I instructed my items for shipping & got the charge 2 payment notification about two days later. Once the charge 2 is paid, FJ ships out the package within 24 hours (sometimes same day). I always use SAL - Unregistered Small Packet & have no problems with it. A minor issue I had was with FJ's packing. I ordered some Gift plushies and they were shipped without any bubble-wrap. I guess this was to keep the international shipping cost low. Luckily, none of the items were damaged but it's just a heads up. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with their service & will continue to use them.
