tanakahace 5 años#2676245With the top coat applied, this means that you will not be able to change the decals anymore?
Yes. I mean, you can use decals on a layer of top coat, too, but modifying the ones below the layer will be impossible. There are methods of removing top coat, but that destroys the decals, of course. On the other hand (pun not intended), if you handle a model/figure with applied decals but no top coat, you risk damaging/rubbing off decals.

    tanakahace 5 años#2676245What is a decal softener?
It's a clear fluid that you apply to decals. It softens the decal and helps it adhere better to the surface. It's helpful especially when you work with uneven surfaces. It also lessens the chance for air bubbles getting trapped beneath the decal. Also, the edges of the decal will be less noticeable.

If you don't want to experiment with vinegar and warm water (the most popular do-it-yourself decal softener, from what I've heard), there's plenty of products to choose from. Mr. Mark Softer is one of the most popular ones.

    Hope that helped. :)

Silveryhace 5 años#2672975Yeah, it's best to apply a layer of top coat. If you want your decals to look better (as in, their edges being less visible), buying a decal softener is a good idea, too.

magicalflyerhace 5 años#2643828So, I've read that the bike uses waterslide decals, right? Haven't worked with one since I last built my model F4F Wildcat aeons ago, but is this means that I have to spray the decals with coating layer to prevent them from being easily damaged by the slightest touch after applying them?

after seeing all the comments on this one, i feel better not buying the bike.

i was able to buy 2 die cast 1/12 scale bikes and the prices combined was still cheaper than this one. and they have spring back tires too which is a plus!

Still waiting for my Miku and her bike to come tommorow. So, I've read that the bike uses waterslide decals, right? Oh, man, I don't remember they said that we have to deal with waterslide decals back then; I wouldn't have pre-ordered this bike if I knew about it..

Guys! To tell you the truth this is my first time that I feel I'm being ripped off on a pre-order. The quality is bad like an ordinary toy. The decals are easily removable and cheap, some are already popping out be careful. I think Die-cast are better than this figma, I bought for an expensive bike that's cheap quality. A motorcycle that has no side stand plus the most challenging part you will have to decal it manually yourself, that sucks because you pay for the finished product.

LOL, I'm definitely going to do this. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
