I think the counterfeit means the recasts being done on various websites.

zzzzzyhace 8 años#1134825I am tempted to buy this, but what differs Volks PVC (ordered Riela not so long ago), and garage kit? Do I have to build this fig myself?

I just picked this up, if you look down through the comments we kind of discussed this, and a user posted a picture of the kit. Its all in parts, color resin so I've seen some users who don't paint garage kits just built it and leave it at that, but there's a lot of gold detailing and gloss missing in the kit when you get it. It will NOT be in one piece when you get it so some super gluing is required (if you dont want to paint it at all). All the pieces are a matte colored resin so its up to you how much detail you want to put in it.

On a side note, i ordered the Riela ad Imca set a loooooong time ago. Like almost a year.. Whats up with that?

xylehace 8 años#1084750I wish you luck with yours!
Post some pics when it's done, there's none by MFC users so far!

Thanks! Sounds like tengen is almost done so they will prob post some pics soon! I've been looking around for some users who I could ask but I'm too embarrassed to! I don't want to offend the GK community because I know doing it yourself is a huge part of the experience, but I really don't want to screw this up!

CloudStrife-xxhace 8 años#1083813I just picked this up from Ionotropic (thanks BTW) and I asked a similar question before buying it from him. This is what he sent me as a description:
"there are stickers for her eyes, which you have to stick on yourself. there are two different kinds of pairs of eyes you can use. you have to paint her lips, and as far as i can tell, you have to paint all the pretty gold accents on her stockings and boots. there might be more, but i'm not really sure. all the black pieces are already black, and all the red pieces are already red. the skin is already flesh toned, but i can't really tell if it requires any fine shading. i have zero experience in assembling and painting garage kits, and i don't even want to try to ruin this one. :)"
Like a bunch of others here have noted, the kit is colour MOLDED and not painted. All the primary pieces are molded in their colour but you have to do the sanding and fine detailing yourself. Another member shared a super useful link from the CharaGumin website, and its pretty much the exact same thing as far as I can tell, just a different character. www.volks.co.jp...
Once it comes in I'm gunna take a look at her to get a better feel for it. If I don't think I can handle it I'll most likely commission someone to do all the gold details because I have zero experience with GK's, but I was dying to have this kits run.

I've also never done a GK before, so i was kinda of hesitant to get it when it was still up for sale before. But she's simply gorgeous to look at in those pics. Girls with big guns are to die for! Oh how i wish they'd make a PVC version T___T

Anyways, either it's you who's gonna do it or a commission, I wish you luck with yours!

CloudStrife-xxhace 8 años#1083965Awesome picture! Super helpful for those who are unfamiliar. I am completely fresh at making these types of models. I've just bought scale pre-painted for many a year and this is my first 'kit'. I'm currently looking for commissioning resources for painting. Know of anywhere to look besides mfc? I've browsed through ..... forums and some of the clubs here on mfc but the best I could find was that CharaGumin tutorial. Are you going to paint yours yourself tengen?

For a first timer, I would recommend something simpler in nature. This kit is pretty complex and has a lot of finer details, plus a lot of small parts which need assembly, so inexperienced builders are bound to mess up somewhere - glue, masking, shading, fine lines, etc. If you insist on doing this kit yourself, I'd recommend to have a go at this kit after your third one. ...... recast kits are a good place to start for cheap fun to steady your hand before tacking on a project like this. Legit kits aren't cheap!
