I think she looks really nice! I don’t believe she’s going to have a lot of different prime viewing angles but that’s ok.
I also really like that there’s not an up-the-skirt shot, true to the anime it’s not fanservice-y creepy.

Oh, "so-so"? Wish they leveled up with this one.
Their recent Yuri on Ice Victor scale (ITEM #549506) was widely panned for a bad face sculpt and weak paint job. Toy-Works/Chara-ani tend to be around Kotobukiya levels of quality (but more inconsistent) - think prize figure in terms of paint detail, better than prize figure quality in terms of sculpt details.
However, saying all of that, so far the Akko figure seems decent. I think it will still be considered over-priced for what it is but the sculpt does look pretty solid, including her face, though the paint job seems somewhat flat. We will really have to wait and see what an actual painted prototype with more angles look like...whenever that might be.

Wow! There's a date now, but they haven't showed any painted protos yet... I don't have any Chara-ani figs. Anyone here who can vouch for the quality of their work?

Wouldn't a 10/2018 release be a bit too fast though? Normally there's a longer period between pre-order (not even up) and release.
Yes - 10/2018. They've been saying that date since the prototype was first released so who knows. There was a hoopla a while back about it getting cancelled (it's not) - this tease feels like a "we better put something out while we keep working" since it wasn't even a painted prototype, just a picture of a prototype.
