She finally came home today. She's definitely overpriced. Her quality is very Koto-Quality. The concept is really cool, I like the sculpt, but if they could just learn how to finish strong with the fine details. Still I love her, and I have paid more for worse figures.

I like the design and concept of her base, but I don't think it was executed perfectly. Since the clear disc sits on only a partial ring of support, it becomes very wobbly. If they had made the support ring a full circle, or made the clear disc click in some how, it would have been more stable.

Mine finally came in yesterday. I was pretty excited to unbox her, but after looking at her closely I’m really disappointed in the quality of this figure. She just looks incredibly rushed. Here’s a breakdown of what I’m referring to:

- The paint job is shaky in some areas and looks pretty flat overall. Little to no shading or accents. Just seems like they didn’t spend a lot of time trying to make her look perfect. Major letdown.

- neither of her hands are actually gripping her skirt where she is supposed to be holding it up. Even with a little nudging of her hands to pop it into place, the skirt sections still don’t fit into her fingers.

- this “etching” pattern on the underside of her skirt tails and veil layers is absolutely horrible. It looks so incredibly rushed, like someone just took a dull nail and scratched the patterns onto it then rubbed a little white paint over it. Some portions of the pattern don’t even have paint in them.

On the positive side, much of this isn’t noticeable from a distance so she still displays quite well. I also really like her base. The stand-off acrylic plate over the gears looks very nice. I was able to affix her veil piece without the use of adhesive, so that’s a plus.

Overall, I still like the figure but this is definitely not the kind of quality that I expect from Koto. I don’t know what happened in this case, but hopefully they don’t start a trend with this kind of production.
