Ishy (hace 3 años) #2549063Okay, I can understand the negative comments about her mouth and price, but sculpt alone? That it is mediocre? Are you even serious? Have you ever owned anything from Max Factory or a figure from Shining Wizard? Their quality control is REALLY tight and the details are always amazing.
Her mouth does look weird from certain angles, but for a translation art-figure, they did an amazing job. Still not as bad as Red Riding Hood Miku...
The price is actually the only valid complain. She's WA-AY too overpriced. For at least 2-3k yen.
But would you rather have a really mediocre figure with sloppy paint job and sculpt for 10k or a masterpiece for 15k? This is up to you.
I'm not gonna order her, but I don't get the hate.

I think the actual problem is that they picked artwork that just doesn't translate very well into 3D. Sometimes it's because of sculptor's skill, but other times it's just the way it is. Even Max Factory's master of details Chieri had to redo ITEM #144293's mouth about 3-4 times to make it look good in 3D but still feasible for mass production.

The composition of this Miku is also way heavy on one side (it even kind of looks like the person who made the art placard PICTURE #1061076 knew because they typeset the "illustration by ebata risa!" right on the upper right of the drawing to balance out the artwork), and no amount of sculpting skill or production quality is going to make a poor composition better. 2D drawings aren't limited by physics or depth, but sculpting is.

Sculpting itself isn't mediocre, but for that price it is. I think Shining Wizard's 7th Dragon Miku has a much better presence for its original price (almost s bargin compared to this one lol).

Anyway that's just my take on it from the pictures so far. I certainly hope for everyone involved that she's just kind of unphotogenic, and looks like a goddess irl.
