Welcome to the Figure Historians Club!
https://static.myfigurecollection.net/upload/pictures/2022/09/25/3268579.jpeg
About
This club is dedicated to the history and lore of both figures and of the collecting hobby in general. Here we can discuss trends in the industry, rare or hard to find figures, fads on MFC, or any other figure related history.

To promote club growth and discussion, we recommend turning on notifications in the comments and forums. To enable notifications, click the Bell icon.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to the admin or mod.

Club Goals
  • Track and link figures that hold some historical significance - no matter how obscure that significance may be! (In fact, the more obscure the better)
  • Discuss trends or significant events in the figure collecting hobby. This could be related to the industry, specific figures or classifications, characters, and more!
  • Archive noteworthy people/events in the community, or on MFC specifically, to preserve for historical/informational purposes.
  • Create and link articles/blogs that discuss any of the above noted topics, or any other form of figure related research.
  • And most importantly - have fun.

Sconeshace 4 días#120407862ITEM #736177 was the first bare leg bunny (at least to be advertised as such and be based on a fishnet).Good call out! Linked. I agree with TOMURA, I would not have guessed that the bare legged bunnies would have started 4 years ago; it still feels like a relatively new thing. Maybe the frequency of bare legged releases has picked up more recently?

It's also interesting to me that she's a castoff, both in bare legged and fishnet versions. I usually think of the FREEing bunnies as being "mostly" sfw. To any bunny experts out there, how common is it for a FREEing bunny to be castoff like that?

Sconeshace 8 días#120202780I believe there is something to be said for PICTURE #1227363. A picture of a human on MFC that evokes so much intrigue and horror is a rarity, as well as not having any 1-stars like most pictures of people do makes it a unique specimen! A revealing relic of 8 years ago.Whoa lol. That picture is definitely... interesting! When I hovered over it, I had no idea what I was looking at in the thumbnail. I'm 100% going to link it, thanks for the suggestion!

Linked BLOG #57335 for figure history purposes. It shows what a user got between several large "Goodsmile Mystery Box" orders. My feeling is that this is a good reference for future users considering buying mystery/blind box type things.

Does anybody remember why BLOG #14762 is linked? I can't find the link request anywhere, and I forget what the reason was - sorry!

If you requested this, can you remind me what the significance of this article was? I'm thinking it was linked because of it's unique/interesting premise, but I'd like to be sure.

I've linked BLOG #55916 to the club. It's not necessarily a historical record, but I feel that it's useful information pertaining to the site itself; somewhat in the realm of MFC-lore.

Eventually I'd like us to create a figure collector FAQ; where things like the scale comparison thread and that blog could be featured.

Hi everyone, I have a request!

If anyone has any figFIX, can you take some photos of them next to other figures and submit to thread/18861 ? Working on BLOG #57247 and talking to other users in the comments has got me wondering what their relative size is, compared to other figure lines.

I would love to see some figFIX next to Pop Up Parade specifically, if anybody has both.

Dyllybirdyhace 20 días#119529268Just thought I'd make some suggestions for linked items. ITEM #29478 as it's the oldest figure with an entry on the site. Also ITEM #632768 as I'm pretty sure it's the oldest item of any kind on the site over all. Sorry if this isn't the way I'm supposed to do this. Thanks for the suggestions! I just linked both of them. The oldest known items on MFC is definitely interesting, and that pencil board is really neat, I feel like a lot of people would be interested in that style. And yeah definitely, this is the right way to do it! Feel free to make any suggestions you'd like.
