Megami Tensei

Even though I was able to find several other clubs covering the Megami Tensei franchise, I wanted to make my own in the pursuit of consolidating any and all MegaTen goods, specifically figures, into one group. While I am totally all for creating a space for MegaTen fans to congregate, the main goals for this club is to make these goods easily accessible, as well as enable others to discover goods that they were unaware existed.

TheCringeMasterHace 1 mes#94396143I recently added these after finding out about them whilst I was trying to find more information on that Isabeau garage kit; ITEM #1158964,ITEM #1158978, ITEM #1158977 and ITEM #1158975.
Do you mind tagging them to this club?

Cool, just added them.

NeuromanticHace 2 meses#93999499I see, I'll keep my eyes out on that category, do you usually just search "shin megami tensei", and choose that category, or do you choose the category without search terms and scour listings?
I once saw an entire set of one of the series on ebay for like $43, but I was in a pretty damn bad place financially, so I couldn't pull the trigger. As much as I regret it now, I didn't really have a choice, so I'm not really upset over it.

I've had to pass on deals like that before too, you can't always control your current circumstances.

I have a list of customized searches saved that I just check daily. My main one is just "anime figure" with a bunch of -stuffIdon'tcareabout to customize it and I have it set to only show me up to a certain price range and then I just browse the results. Most of them are skippable since there are a LOT of Chinese sellers selling knock offs on eBay so I ignore the Chinese listings most of the time but I set it to Worldwide so I get both local and Japanaese sellers and such. I also have it set to all categories because people will list them in all sort of categories especially if they don't know anything about anime. You get a lot of people who sell off figures they got from estate auctions or storage room purchases. I have a variety of searches saved and sometimes when I want to waste more time I search with even broader settings because of the chance of badly titled listings or listings with the wrong anime name and such. It's a treasure hunt. I've been using eBay a long time so I have gotten the hang of using it. I often purchase figures that I then turn around and sell with proper information for profit-one of the ways I can afford new stuff. Sometimes I message sellers with unidentified anime merchandise and help them out with info I gather from this site. This site has been really helpful in me finding information on items and their value.

Here's a cropped screenshot of some of the saved searches I have just to show you a example of what I mean.

As you can see I have them all set to Unsubscribed because otherwise I would get millions of e-mails a day lol. It's easier to just browse them from time to time.

If you ever have any questions about eBay just pop me a message I'll see if I can help, been using it since I was like 11. My page can be found here.

njdrawscomicsHace 2 meses#93951606It's a slow process. I think the most I ever spent on a one of them is $17 and it was ITEM #17007 who was very important to me (no nameplate but those are just optional to me, not required). I just get mine off eBay usually under Unknown Anime Figure listings. If you use eBay right you can find lots of mislabeled or slightly damaged figures for crazy good prices (I mean I got ITEM #468 for a total of $35, a figure I thought I would never be able to afford). Been my main shopping place during Covid since a lot of stores are just too expensive shipping wise right now, though some are starting to offer options again.
I don't know how long it'll take for me to get ITEM #7936 or ITEM #7937 those are always insanely expensive I haven't been able to justify it. Maybe when it comes down to being the only missing pieces but we'll see.

NeuromanticHace 2 meses#93951589Oh shit, that's nuts. There are so many, can't imagine how long it took you to find them. I see there are a few on mandarake and ebay, but I can't justify paying the prices they're going for now.

njdrawscomicsHace 2 meses#93951573Yeah I really would like a active SMT group.
And it's one of my personal goals to get all the one coin demon figures (with or without nameplates). I have most of them now but still plenty left to go!

njdrawscomicsHace 2 meses#93951517I love both the human and demons. A little disappointed you don't want to include everything, but there is a lot so sticking to figures makes enough sense. I mostly collect prize figures myself, only own a few actual SMT scales.
Pretty sure only admins/mods of a club can link items to a club, if not I haven't been able to figure out how to do it.
Was also really hoping more people would have joined up by now, I'm new to using clubs socially so not sure how common this is. The Persona Users club is pretty quite too.

NeuromanticHace 2 meses#93951505Heya, Thanks for joining! I primarily made this group to make a curated list of figures, but it's totally cool if you'd want to tag other goods too. I tried to sift through most of the figures to only tag scale figures, and leave out the prize figures, but made some exceptions with the coin figures of the demons, as I'm honestly way more interested in collecting demon figures than the human protagonists.

njdrawscomicsHace 2 meses#92614023Would like to see this club go somewhere, it's new and yet so quite. There's still a bunch of merch that should be tagged too.
What was everyone's first MT experience? Mine was being recommended the first Devil Survivor on the DS. I never got so engrossed in a game before, I played every route, for the first time did every bonus boss and collected every single demon. I'm usually a very lazy gamer but MT games just hook me. I played Person 3 shortly after and fell in love with that subseries of MT. Have played basically every one I could get my hands on after that.
My figure and poster collection is mostly SMT/Persona stuff it's my top priority in collecting.
