Comentarios Increased DHL prices on AmiAmi

DHL for Italy has always been prohibitive (I paid 21k for last 1/4 freeing Asuna)

furthermore now we dont have EMS

before this news I was already pondering to move some order (especially figures with big packages) from AmiAmi to Amazon JP, now I'm sure to do that: I've already seen shipping costs are a lot lower and I can also pay customs at the same time, they only thing i dont like is they dont offer paypal payment

mariijane • Hace 5 meses • #103967356i believe companies actually have different contracted rates with these private shipping companies (DHL, fedex, UPS, etc). i typically prefer DHL across the board (i shop on a number of different sites for all sorts of stuff, not just figures but homegoods like bedding, kitchen stuff, other general merch like magazines, clothing, etc) and the rates can vary sometimes by a little.. and sometimes by a -lot- depending on the storefront especially when it's a large company versus a small store or a private seller.
at least in my experience DHL costs on amiami were generally much cheaper than, for example, cdjapan. this is a pretty disappointing for me tbh.
i guess i'll have to wait and see how it compares when the invoices come rolling in :-\

Absolutely they do, but it's not like Amiami is calling up DHL and saying "Hey, do you think you could raise our prices?" It's more like DHL calling them up and saying "Hey it's renegotiation time, and our prices have to go up. Let's start at an additional 5%" and negotiating from there.

Only consolation at the moment is everything keeps getting delayed, but being Canadian I'm going to have to budget around shipping like paying for an additional figure at this point..

I've been moving to Amazon.jp almost exclusively the past 6 months and this just vindicates my decision even more.

Welp, time to stop buying from Amiami and give HLJ my business instead since they offer Fedex and it's always been more reasonably priced for me than DHL. I'll probably cancel a few of my Amiami orders over this, but sadly I have a few exclusives ordered that I can't reorder anywhere else, so I'll have to eat the cost for those. It's a bad time to be a collector in Canada :(

17% in canada is a joke, especially with the insane fees they make us pay. It REALLY feels like DHL further capitalizing on canada post being canada post :/

Ugh. DHL is already expensive enough, never mind that they make you pay even more on delivery (customs I don't mind but that processing fee... yeesh).

Yeah, I noticed the jump in price on my invoice when I changed the payment option. Ended up combining two nendos together because I am not paying for those prices two separate times if I can help it. I was hoping it was a seasonal change but I wouldn't be surprised if these numbers are here to stay. :/
