    sailormatlac (Hace 9 meses) #37176526One must have deep pockets or be desperate to buy figures at cons. I've never witnessed what could be considered a deal in these peddlers rooms.Seriously. I think it only happened to me twice where I bought a figure for a few dollars under the original retail price, but it doesn’t really help since you also have to consider the con badge price.

    tharglet (Hace 9 meses) #37156053Looking at that figure, no, she wouldn't stand without some kind of base. Or she'd be hard to balance to do so. Can't find any evidence of a bootleg, so likely a genuine packaging mistake at the factory.
    If I found something like that, and had the chance to go back to the stall, I'd either be asking for a full refund & return or a half-refund for half-a-figure.
    If you wanted to customise it, you might be able to make a wedge similar to the one it should have using Fimo clay and stick it to the base. Assuming the pegs are on the base, you would also need a metal rod of the right size (or your other options are to go smaller and fill and re-bore the hole, or go slightly larger and see if heat will allow the plastic to flex enough, or bore out a bit of plastic).
    thanks for the tips! :D I'll try my best

    AshuriiKareshi (Hace 9 meses) #37154922That really sucks :( the woman at the convention sounds unreasonable seen as the item you bought wasn't correct >>
    The only thing I can think of is to either try and customise the base so she will fit, make a completely new base or sell the figure and base seperate (or together) to someone who likes to make custom figures and then buy a new figure.
    I wish there was some for you to return it and get your money back but I'm not sure how else to go about that ;-;

    Yeah lol, the lady didn't even understand what I said when I told her that I think the base is wrong, she was like "the base?" and I had to explain a lot to her, honestly don't see why people would sell a lot of stuff at a convention if they don't even know what they are selling. She was like "I'm not the boss and I didn't switch it out" like ofc I wouldn't assume that is was her fault lol

    It happened for me as well. Bought ITEM #222559 from Mandarake (so legit item), but the base inside was of ITEM #222558. Really sucks, but can happen with prize figures as to my understanding.

    You are probably left either with modding the base / making a custom one or reselling.

    Do you have pictures or the item link to see about which figure it goes? Indeed i have never see a mistake as this. My first thought is also bootleg. But it also can be swapped if it goes about a second handed figure or someone at the figure company having a bad day. Pictures will tell a lot in this case.

    nicoyaasawa (Hace 9 meses) #37154791It was completely new and unopened, I dont think it's a bootleg. Only that it was misproduced. I speculated that it might have been switched out with the Hanamaru one so I talked to the lady at the shop about it and she said I couldn't look at the other one, stupid me bought the other one, the bases are completely the same and nothing was wrong with the Hanamaru figure.. it's really unfortunate haha. I sold my Hanamaru figure to my friend though.
