Hello,
In the next few months or so ill be moving into my houses attic for more space than my current bedroom. Im excited as it gives me more room for my figures and merch, but im worried about any potential issues such as heat.
The attic is the span of the house in a A shape, so walls are small but extremely long, with a small door on each side for storage which ill be sealing up to prevent insects etc. There are 2 large windows and 1 small window on one side of the ceiling which i can easily block out with blinds.
My biggest concern is heat though, and the only idea I have is to keep figures near a fan, out of direct light so possibly in a corner (built in wardrobe with a dark spot on the side) and open the windows now and then to get air circulating.
I live in Ireland, so moisture is a problem but i have a large dehumidifier which works, and the attic has no moisture issues as its well insulated. Lately though the summers have been worse, so thats why im wondering if anyone in similar countries or living in a attic space with figures could help?
Thank you!

But here it's not that hot :) only during summers 30-35 at most
I live in ireland so moisture is more of a concern but ive been able to deal with it well, only in the last few years summer has become more of a nuisance. The attic has good ventilation but i wanna add more safeguards just incase.
You say it's insulated, we recently insulated our loft space so we can store stuff up there.
Before adding insulation the loft space was about 45 degrees in the summer with the rest of the house at about 30 on hot days
With the insulation it should keep the whole house cooler, the difference in the loft space being about 15 degrees from the roof itself on hot days.
So it depends on the insulation.
I will be storing some prize figures and cheaper items in the loft while we rework some of the house space but won't put any scales up there until I am sure the space wont get very hot in the summer.
Might just be worth having somewhere else in the house you can pack away figures if it starts getting to warm in the loft space or have a portable AC you can use on the very hot days but going to be hard to tell until the warm weather comes.
I have only a small amount of scales so i might test with a few of my prize figures, ill be able to safely store my figures in my current room just in case aswell.
Im currently looking at ACs though as a few have said itll help. I know its too early to tell regarding heat but im just planning in advance xd

A single room unit should be enough.
Ill be using the attic as my new bedroom, so keeping an eye on them will be no problem! Just worried as the heat has increased the last few years and i tend to overthink things. Ill be storing the figure boxes in containers though once ikea reopens xd
It gets quite warm up there and im currently looking at fans like dyson etc to help just incase along with open windows aswell. What kinda ac can you reccomend?
