Another COVID-19-related delayed figure has finally arrived! This will complete a set, so I'm glad she finally came in!

From the "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! / Eiga Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Kurenai Densetsu" anime, or just simply the "Kono Suba" anime, this is Figma Darkness / Dustiness Ford Lalatina (with GSC bonus):

Each photo can be clicked on to give a full-size view of the image, even if the image itself doesn't display.

Here's her in the box:

As #450 in the Figma figure series, Dustiness Ford Lalatina is the latest in the ever-growing and increasingly popular Figma figure series! Her full name is Dustiness Ford Lalatina, but I am going to call her by her more commonly used name in the anime for the rest of the review, Darkness.

I have already reviewed Figma Aqua as well as Megumin's original Figma form, Megumin's swimsuit Figma, and Figma Kazuma. This will complete the set (as it stands).

Like all Figma's, Darkness comes in the new, much smaller standardized box. She's got most of her parts displayed in the window as well as the figure itself. It also has all of the normal information on it, like the series logo (in the bottom right corner), Max Factory's logo (top left corner), and of course the figure's name, number and image on the bottom-middle.

There is also a Good Smile Company (GSC) bonus with this release; which I will cover in more detail at the end of the review.

Back of the box:

Darkness is one of the main heroines/girls in the anime, "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!"; which is often abbreviated as "Kono Suba". This release says that the figure is specifically from, "Eiga Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! Kurenai Densetsu" however (though there's no difference between the looks of the characters between these).

Just like the front of the box, the back has all of the usual information, logos and images that have become standard to Figma figures recently. The background for Darkness's box is black - very fitting - with some of her alternate parts and accessories shown in use.

She comes with a fair number of parts; so most of her poses and accessories are shown here on the back of the box (or on the sides).

Keeping up the standard (as it is now) of Figma (and Nendoroid) figures; Darkness's instructions are in both English and Japanese. The English is on one side, and the Japanese is on the other. It is the same on both sides, otherwise.

The instructions show all of her parts, including the standard how to change the face parts directions and how to brace the figure on the stand directions.

There are a few special parts with Darkness that are featured in the instructions, which are her alternate torso, swords, and flying cabbage.

Darkness comes with a good number of parts; both for her body and accessories. Here's the list:

View spoilerHide spoiler-- Darkness herself
-- Standard Figma base with stand
-- Extra joint part
-- Figma base extension plug
-- 4 sets of alternate hands (fully open hands, slightly open hands, holding hands, & closed fists; both left and right)
-- 2 alternate faces
-- Sheathed sword
-- Full sword
-- Alternate upper torso (with plugs for not-in-use storage)
-- Flying cabbage
-- Instructions

Also there is one more part, but it's not included in the plastic inner core. Instead this one is actually only available if you ordered the figure directly from Good Smile Company (during the pre-order period). This extra part will be covered in more detail at the end of the review.

Out of the box:

Darknes comes ready to go out of the box once her protective plastic pieces have been taken off. She comes with her normal relaxed expression in place as well as opened hands. She is also wearing her normal outfit she always wears in the anime.

As with all Figma's; the arms, hands, and legs are interchangeable and very easy to swap out with other arms, hands and legs. The same holds true for the face and the base as well.

The only issue worth mentioning is that her ponytail does have a considerably sized gap in the front. This is to accommodate the movement of it on the ball-joint, but it is visible from a lot of angles, especially above her head.

With sheathed sword:

Darkness's sword is actually kind of interesting. When the sword is not in use, it is sheathed in a sheath behind her back, similar to Kazuma's weapon. But with Darkness's weapon, there are two different ones:

There's a full sword version and a version that is just the hilt only. The hilt only version is the one that plugs into the sheath; the other one can't fit into it. But both of these also have removable tips at the ends of the grips. These removable parts allow the grabbing hands to be slid through the handle and hold either one of the grips (of course putting the tips back on afterwards).

This allows Darkness to hold the full sword with her left hand, right hand, or both hands at the same time. Or she can hold the sheathed sword with her right hand, as if she is about to draw it.

With full sword:

Darkness's sword, as mentioned before, can be held in both hands or just one at a time. The full sword is VERY sharp though! The tip is really sharp and can poke you very easily! So some caution is to be taken when handling it...it's not dull at the tip like Kazuma's weapon (for example), so this is somewhat odd to do with a figure's weapon.

The fact that there are two swords with this figure means that she can also have two swords on her at the same time:

While not true to the show at all, it is neat that this can be done because of the figure's design.

Upper Torso Accessory/Fantasizing Expression:

One of the accessories with Darkness is an alternate torso. Very frequently in the anime Darkness will lose parts of her armor, leaving her with just the undershirt exposed. This comes in the package with 4 plugs in it, which can be easily removed. They work in the same spots on the main torso, so they can be plugged into either torso when it is not in use with the figure and used for storing that part.

The alternate upper torso piece does seem a bit too small for the rest of the body...but it might just be because of the thickness of Darkness's armor in general. Attaching the piece is easy enough, as Darkness has an area under her breasts where she splits in half; allowing the torsos to be swapped out and reattached easily. The head and arms also swap out in the same way.

However these are the only parts of her armor that actually detach or swap out. The rest of the armor from the breasts down doesn't really come off...well, it does to a certain extent, but it doesn't look good. Basically the front of the armor from the waist down doesn't come off at all: It is attached to her hips/panties; it's one piece. The sides and back of the armor DO come off...but, as stated before, it really doesn't look good:

It leaves these large gaps on the sides and back of the figure at the waist, creating this really awkward look for her...like something is off, even though her legs are fully painted and technically she's not missing any parts that would need to be there to complete the figure (in terms of actual clothes). More like the armor is just so big, it creates a weird look when not attached, akin to the upper torso's issue with it.

That being said, the figure can be placed on the ground without her stand attached:

While the sides and back of her armor's skirt do move and splay outwards with no issue, the front is not designed in the same way. The back and sides are on ball joints (which is why they are removable as well), but the front is connected to her hips/waist, as mentioned before. This means that it doesn't come off, but instead only bends. It is soft enough plastic to bend...but it's not recommended to do this for any great period of time as it might permanently stay bent like that.

Also in the photo above is one of her alternate faces. This is her 'fantasizing' face, according to the official page for the figure. This face is usually seen when she is dreaming about being used in some S&M way.

Euphoric Expression:

The third face that comes with Darkness is her 'euphoric' expression (also according to the official page for the figure). This expression is usually seen when she is really enjoying her masochistic ways, after getting embarrassed or taken advantage of in some perverse way.

Flying Cabbage:

The last accessory that comes with Darkness actually comes in a few pieces. It is a flying cabbage; a creature seen during one episode of the series where a bunch of them 'attack' the town (avoiding spoilers).

The accessory comes with the flying cabbage itself, as well as a stand that comes in 2 pieces. The stand pieces simply plug into each other and then plugs into the back of the cabbage.

Once connected, the cabbage and stand can connect to the Figma's stand arm, which allows it to look like it is flying next to Darkness. This also means that the cabbage can connect to any Figma stand and be used with other figures as well.

The cabbage can also be placed into Darkness's hands, allowing her to hold it. But it doesn't plug in at all; it just rests on her hands.

Good Smile Company Bonus:

The last item to mention is the Good Smile Company bonus that comes with Darkness! It comes in a sealed black bag; similar to previous GSC exclusive bonuses in the past.

Taken out of the bag; it's easy to see what it is: An alternate face! This one is a shy/blushing expression.

GSC bonus in use:

This expression fits her nicely, as it is often seen when she is shy from being embarrassed in a way that doesn't arouse her (such as being called by her full, real name).

With Aqua:

As a part of a set of Kono Suba Figma figures, Darkness can of course be posed with the other Figma Koba Suba figures as well, such as Aqua. And they do look really good together! Unfortunately they don't have any accessories for direct interaction between them, however.

With swimsuit Megumin:

Megumin never wears a swimsuit in the anime, so finding a good interaction between the two was kind of hard.

With Megumin in regular clothes:

Darkness does love to be caught in explosions, so it only makes sense for her to be caught by Megumin's blast.

With Kazuma:

Naturally she will always have the playful and slightly masochistic relationship with Kazuma as well. This is where her alternate faces work best, honestly.

As a set:

Of course the release of Figma Darkness signals the main 4 characters all having Figma releases now. Strangely Figma Darkness was the last one released for the Kono Suba Figmas; whereas Nendoroid Kazuma was the last Nendoroid released for the 4 main figures in that line.

While it doesn't make sense in terms of the anime to have 2 Megumin's; this is the entire set of all 5 Figma Kono Suba figures altogether!

And lastly is the entire set of Nendoroids and Figmas for the Kono Suba series, as it stands currrently. This includes:

View spoilerHide spoilerITEM #415013 - Nendoroid Aqua
ITEM #464596 - Nendoroid Megumin
ITEM #538429 - Nendoroid Darkness
ITEM #604431 - Nendoroid Yunyun
ITEM #662298 - Nendoroid Megumin School Ver.
ITEM #666745 - Nendoroid Kazuma
ITEM #675314 - Figma Aqua
ITEM #675877 - Figma Megumin
ITEM #740130 - Figma Kazuma
ITEM #806015 - Figma Darkness
ITEM #855656 - Figma Megumin Swimsuit Ver.

Yet another great example of the kind of quality expected from Good Smile Company! This figures has a lot of nice accessories, parts, and alternate pieces. The only real problems I could find with her were the way that the armor looks with the alternate torso. It was fully removable or made to blend together better, it would look more aesthetically pleasing. Her ponytail does have a large gap in it when viewed from the top of her head and it is somewhat visible from the front too...but it's not a deal-breaker.

Highly recommended for someone getting the full set of Figma Kono Suba figures! She is a lot better than both Figma Megumin figures, and is on par with Aqua and Kazuma.

I am still holding out hope they will do Figma and Nendoroid figures for Wiz, someday.

Thanks for looking! Feel free to comment and I hope you enjoy the review! Be sure to check out the other reviews here: users.v4.php?mo...

Yeah, I think that they just started resuming shipping from Japan very recently. The corona really put a halt on shipping for a long time! I hope you get yours soon, carp1990! Thank you so much! ^^
