No problem, eventually we got there LOL. I actually had my doubts about making her face :) or :I , but as her cheeks indicate cuteness I went for :). Anyway, this figure needs a whole repaint some day. ^^''

MaakieHace 2 meses#79942395Huhh, I still don't really see it LOL. But she has very round cheeks already in her sculpt. I guess you mean that instead of the " : ) " if I painted, a " : I " would have been better? :D

RikoeiHace 2 meses#79836438Hmmm maybe it’s the cheeks but at the corners of the mouth and the teeth bend a bit and yes once you see it you can’t unsee it but maybe I am being too picky haha
And when I say bend it goes into a corner shape instead of a straight line like it should be sorry I am terrible at explaining things

MaakieHace 2 meses#79834775It's mainly a disappointment for me as I have gone from better quality to worse...also, don't feel bad, I started this blog off with a warning and I prepared myself for whatever comments would come in... :P
I really don't see the buck teeth part, though?? :') Do you mean around the red line for her mouth?? :') Is this something I can't unsee once I've seen it?!

RikoeiHace 2 meses#79834763It’s actually done pretty good better then what I could do (painting by hand) even though I draw I am terrible at painting haha
HOWEVER my only critique would be she looks like she has buck teeth I don’t want to sound too mean but that’s me I am honest and I may sound mean but.....overall it’s really good nice job

galablueHace 2 meses#79795058I think she actually looks pretty good from a distance on your shelf, and parts of the figure look great to me (specifically the shading you did on her stomach). Great job, I know how disappointing it can be when something you work hard on doesn't turn out exactly how you want it to.

Yeah from a distance she is OK, especially because she is so much smaller than the rest. I have similar things with cosplay work sometimes as well, especially when I get stuck on fabric parts. At one point you just want to finish the project and don't want to stay stuck or keep on repairing/fixing/starting-from-scratch certain parts. When getting better at my skills in both those crafts hobbies, this starts to happen less.

leonasenshiHace 2 meses#79795281Mmhh you don't mention requesting any constructive criticism, if you'd like one, I can surely give you pointers on how to improve.

Oh, I'm always open for criticism, constructive ones preferred over trashing of course. :D One note here is that this kit was made over a year ago and I have made 4 way better looking ones inbetween, those will be covered later (currently backlogged with talking about this), that's why I was not specifically requesting any right now. But anyway, feel free to still drop it, because there could always be something in there I don't know now! :)

victorviperHace 2 meses#79794454It's always interesting to see these GK posts, with the level of effort needed to finish even a relatively simple figure.
I guess part of the reason I can't motivate myself to do GK's is there are so many supplies needed up front to even get started - some good snips, pins, clips, filler, paints of every color imaginable, airbrush, etc. etc. etc...

This one is way harder than it looks, I underestimated her myself as well...the tiny size! It does make her an interesting subject to remake one day, but on the other hand, motivation is low because of how hard it was! ^^''

Yeah it's one of the downsides, it's not like other crafts hobby's (such as cosplay) where you can over time get more and better tools...you really need to have a huge pack of materials ready to go when you want to get to painting your first kit. If it wasn't for my friend who paints Warhammer, who let me borrow about 75% of the needed materials for my first kit, I might never have gotten started. Over time I slowly bought more and more materials myself and eventually got to a point where almost everything I own is specifically to make GK's with (which is a huge quality boost compared to cheaper and more generic materials I worked with before). Can't really give much advice on this except for trying to see if you can borrow from craftsy friends or just...one day really get to it and invest yourself.
