Comentarios Japan Post Update May 28th

  • CriscokidHace 1 mes#78731432Update: My pre-order from Hobby Search that was posted 05/31/2020, arrived at dispatch office 06/01/2020 (Tokyo Int'l), was dispatched from Japan this morning (06/06/2020). Has your parcel been dispatched yet?

Ironically I just had the same update, dispatched this morning. Bought a pair of figures off AmiAmi on 5/30 and they're on their way. Same with the Hobbysearch figure, but uhhh

Took a month and 5 days to move lmao

rogue_gHace 1 mes#78326665I think a large part of it comes down to luck right now. My package is from HobbySearch, so they might be further down the queue than AmiAmi. At least in your experience it moved fairly well, that's positive for future deliveries at least!

I have a Hobby Search pre-order prepping for shipping today and my AmiAmi monthly shipment should be processed soon, so I'll see if there is a difference and I'll post it here. rogue_gHace 1 mes#78326665I think a large part of it comes down to luck right now. CriscokidHace 1 mes#78306449Interesting... my last EMS to Canada arrived at Tokyo airport May 3 dispatched May 7 and delivered to me by May 17. My EMS parcel was in an AmiAmi 160 size box, so it wasn't small. I wonder why yours hasn't left yet?

Oh man I'm jealous. My stuff to Canada has been trapped in limbo for over a month now. I'd be curious to see a photo of a Japan Post warehouse right now. They must have packages overflowing out the doors at this point

noctisityHace 1 mes#78327893No, JP Post is still not shipping to the US via EMS, Airmail, and SAL. (SAL is still suspended worldwide.) The only exception is if you're sending letters/postcards via Airmail. Edit: Surface mail is also still available but not all stores offer that.

This isn't quite true. JP Post is just not accepting any NEW packages to the US via EMS or Airmail. They stopped accepting new parcels because they had developed a very large backlog that they are continuing to work through.

Which airport in Japan your package is coming from definitely matters. I had a total of three packages stuck when they announced the suspension, two in Tokyo on 4 April and 23 April and one in Chubu on 15 April. The one in Chubu finally got dispatched on 16 May and was delivered, but the two in Tokyo still haven't moved.

JP Post seems to be shipping what they have little by little, but I wouldn't expect them to start accepting anything new until the backlog is cleared. Hopefully it will be faster than the original four month estimate they gave.

Welp, my airmail package still in Japan since 4/22 but I appreciate the JPN mail update. Damn, DHL is very expensive.

I think it may resume in the winter but I can only hope for good news.

Not surprised, but I couldn't help hoping for better news. I wonder when things will start moving again. Sometime in summer, or as late as fall...?

I'm disappointed EMS and Air aren't back here in the US (though I'm not sure I'd have wanted to ship Air anyway with the backups), but there's nothing we can do but wait until Japan opens up flights here that take US packages. :(.

I think people misunderstood fundamental of the issue,
it is not about end of quarantine in your country, but in Japan.

If there are planes from Japan to your countries,
if they have enough people, keep up with a shipments
(you can find about it in some online articles),
if they want to reopen it and many other factors,
it has nothing to do with the state of your country!

SerialGunnerHace 1 mes#78327595I’m confused, USA can accept shipment from Japan post?
