Painting Pulchras Kanna!Painting Pulchras Kanna!

RokikiRokikiHace 2 mesesTutorial
Half tutorial, but mostly just me showing me adjusting Kanna.

This is by no means professional, and just something I do with many figures I own, but I was asked to show how and I thought I would also post this here!

Of course, starting with supplies, I use chalk pastels, Tamiya Paints, some acetone for mistakes, and some small model brushes as well as a makeup blending brush

I started with her eyes, which was just filling in the lashes, I made a small error, but I feel its fine and it does not bother me.

Using a wet brush I go into pastels ground into sandpaper and paint with it, its a very forgiving material to use.

Using the grey, I defined the strings and buttons, they are very small, so dont worry about it being 100% perfect.

I like to get several shades ready, and I recommend the same so you keep hands clean.

Go in with the pinks in this case, and go over where you would like shading, again with a damp brush! Dont worry about perfection, or doing it fast, it does not matter if it dries.

Using the fluffy brush, get it as nearly dry as you can, and stipple to blend out the pastels.

For the hair, I find it helps to mask so you dont make a mess on the rest.

This is the most annoying part, but douse pigment on the hair, let it dry, and do your best at the gradient, let things dry before blending as it looks different dry vs. wet.

We now have a hair gradient after going in 100 times to blend and dry!

I find leaving a slightly imperfect brush stroke over the sweater gives a slight texture, which I like! (Mind the shine, it is wet)

As some finishing steps, I added more blush as well as going over the highlight on the cheeks with white paint. It is a lot of fun for me, so I hope you enjoy the process : )

I like to let it sit for an hour or so to ensure before setting with super clear that all is well, as sometimes I notice things after working on it.

Do a quick few bursts of spray and we are good to go!

This is actually funny because I painted my whole house without protecting the carpet, to be honest I dont think twice on it until someone points it out

LillyMay (Hace 2 meses) #48158078OH wow she looks much nicer now! Great job, I especially like the hair gradient you did. She looks like a quality figure now instead of a cheap, flat colored one. Pulchra isn't a very good company it seems, I've heard lots of complaints about them >.<MindySue (Hace 2 meses) #48158444Wow :o She looks so great. I want to see moar stuff like this.FlyingToNowhere (Hace 2 meses) #48161487Ah, this is the Kanna I would have paid up for! The white eyelashes particularly bugged me, and the lack of hair gradient. You did a great job on everything, the changes really gave more life and dimension to the figure.spinners_grove (Hace 2 meses) #48164771She looks gorgeous--you really have a talent!helpingly (Hace 2 meses) #48167068Wow that looks amazing! Thank you everyone, glad people enjoy it as it is what feels a bit messy of a post to me!
