Selling Obscure Series Merchandise?Comentarios • Selling Obscure Series Merchandise?

  • 1pt
Bit late to this, but my tips might help. As someone that mainly collects from more obscure stuff, I really hope I won't lose the flame I have for my most favorite franchises as I would be completely in the same boat as you there. >.<

I do have quite some 'not very wanted' items for sale already where I am the cheapest price, but people are simply not interested in the character and/or item So what I have been doing for those is making 'grab bags' which promises double value of what you pay. I mostly make $15 grab bags, which have value of at least $30. Yes, I make quite some loss on them, but there is literally merchandise that otherwise does not sell.

If I ever lose my love for my favorite older franchises I might not even take the time to put up all that stuff for sale seperately, I would throw it in grab bags right away. :')

RockGodItachi (Hace 3 meses) #47854075I'm still bemused that I've had figures and merch on E-Bay that have been new and sealed for months at the cheapest price and have not sold, even popular items like Nendoroids take ages to sell for me which drives me mad! lol In fact I had a look the other week at one I was selling that I finally had sold and people were buying more expensive ones than mine that week which I still can't get my head around! The same Nendo but they were paying almost double the price! Lol

I might know what your issue is. Are you selling on ebay.co.uk? I am forced by eBay policy to sell on ebay.nl and it's incredibly hard for people to find my listed items if they are browsing on ebay.com, which most people do when they shop there. I also have similar issues, for example there is this figure I'm trying to sell for $30 and and US seller has that same one with 'one piece getting sold every week'-text listed for $75!!! It drives me mad that I can't find a buyer for that item for MONTHS, while supposedly this guy is selling one every WEEK for more than double the price?? Wtfffff. But yeah, that has everything to do with 'bad visibility' on eBay...

As I mentioned to Yurii I think some of the stuff I have would violate the rules of the Anime merch clubs, as I've not seen anyone selling ecchi merch etc. That's an idea but being as I've lost interest in the series as a whole I would kind of feel hypocritical to open a fan page just to try and sell the merch, I'd feel pretty bad tbh. I have looked up to see if there're pages but sadly it looks like they're not active, one was last updated in 2016. I know there're otehr fans of her and the series out there but finding them is like looking for a needle in a hay stack, that's why i created the Satellizer club when I was really into the series to find more people who like it but even advertising on there hasn't got me anywhere sadly. I'm still keeping some of the scale figures but there're some I'm contemplating on selling, still haven't fully made up my mind but the only one I'm currently try to sell is the A+ holiday suntan version, which even though I'm selling her for a really good price which is a lot lower than she's actually worth, I still can't sell her, even though she has the AmiAmi bonus bikini too. I'm not sure if I will regret it or not really, I've sold a lot over the past 2 years and I sit here now not regretting it, in fact the only thing i really do is the massive collection of Star wars Lego I had, that was foolish of me to sell that.

Thats..odd. Cause in the manga sales club i sell my stuff ecchi is allowed and even 18+ if properly censored and you have to mention it is an adult figure

And well so i thouhgt too when i sold my louise and then missed her now im hunting her. But i love hunting so guess its ok..

    Hmm yeah if you want to sell you have to be patient my figs are often decent priced to yet no fish bites.. its sadly time consuming and can even take years.. like for example i recently sold a chibi set of lineage 2 and etheldreya which have been for sale for 3 years if not more ^^;

You shouldnt make a page for it indeed but if you found a fanclub..
like kongou from arpeggio is pretty niche fanbase too but there is a club so yeah.. too bad thats not the case with satellizer.

When still hesistant i think you should store them for a bit and see if you miss em.
Those you are surely not missing like apparantly that A+ figure can go first then and your maybe sales can come later :)

I'm sure we first talked in the UK anime selling group on Facebook?

Anyways Im sure I remember that they said you can sell 18+ stuff as long as you state it (and ask if the buyer is indeed over 18). If you're unsure you can always ask an admin seen as they are a lot more active now.

Chloe-tsundere (Hace 3 meses) #47739499Facebook and local sales sites.. in my case that is marktplaats where everyone can bid and you can set a price, negotiate etc
On fb i run a louise fanpage so i made a sales album in case someone wants it plus theres an anime and manga sales for dutch and belgian people :) which i also sell on
Just dont expect it to go super smooth it might take time..
Maybe there is a satellizer fanpage too where you can try it? Dunno if they allow it since youre not the founder i assume :)
I also feel you.. my flame slowly dies too when it comes to ZnT that i dont need everything. I will still keep all prepainted as when i sold one prepainted i thought i didnt like... i regret it even today so yeah... ^^; dont think i should sell it.
    But small merch etc

yurii (Hace 3 meses) #47676281Facebook groups for sure! I've had a lot of luck selling random goods there cheaply :) Plus there are 2 or 3 UK groups which makes things easier.
But yeah selling goods later on can be rather frustrating. I pretty much don't buy them any more because of this!

I haven't really tried to sell some of the stuff on there as a lot of it is ecchi, as Freezing is an ecchi series and I think it would violate rules of those groups, I've not seen anyone selling Daki covers or r-rated doujinshi etc on there so I think they must have rules that stop that, as they're groups that anyone could join. You're right, never in a million years did I think that selling any kind of Anime merch/figures would be so difficult but it is! I'm still bemused that I've had figures and merch on E-Bay that have been new and sealed for months at the cheapest price and have not sold, even popular items like Nendoroids take ages to sell for me which drives me mad! lol In fact I had a look the other week at one I was selling that I finally had sold and people were buying more expensive ones than mine that week which I still can't get my head around! CaptainZ (Hace 3 meses) #47672414That's sad to hear since I've been buying up the freezing managa over the last 3-4 months, and really loving it.

Yeah, I really felt that I would want to keep my passion alive for the series but over the years I've just lost interest, I still haven't read the Manga fully, I was but I just kinda dropped it. I will probably go back to it eventually but I doubt it will re-light my feelings for the series, i think the only thing that would do that is a new Anime series and the likelihood of that happening now is incredibly slim.

bonbonhime (Hace 3 meses) #47669705If you have a lot of pins/straps/similar merch, I recommend selling them in lots on Ita bag groups on Facebook! Ita bags are still going pretty strong and selling in lots means that (1) someone can start a bag fast and (2) you can slip in a few less popular items with more popular items. Especially if all of the goods are of Bridget, you might just find another big fan of hers! :)

That's a great idea, unfortunately I only have keyrings really, all of the otehr merch consists of pillow covers, towels, blankets, binders, cards, mugs etc a lot is new an unopened but even that I'm having a hard time shifting.
