bakugou + izuku nendoroids + how store stock works?bakugou + izuku nendoroids + how store stock works?

FujinYumiFujinYumiHace 2 mesesAsk MFC
how exactly does the stock for pre orders at stores work? do stores get a limited amount of slots before they close their pre orders? do pre orders get closed automatically once the requests for the item hit the quota or do stores close them manually?

i’m curious because ITEM #455088 and ITEM #455089 sold out SUPER fast everywhere and i had always been under the assumption that it was a made to order thing.

i’m also kinda worried because i ordered them off hobby search and i’ve never bought from there before. how reliable are they with pre orders? what are the chances they they will cancel on me?

Hikari-chan (Hace 2 meses) #38609225Yeah, I'm actually glad I got him... And I got super lucky with midoriya too, I got him at a convention for 80€ last year, they actually had 2 of him, I honestly thought about getting both and selling one but I didn't have enough money left to spend XD
Though I thoroughly checked him before I got him since I was really afraid of him being a Bootleg since he was kinda cheap, the shop understood and allowed me to open him and look at him... He was fine so I got him XD

A friend thought she had found him on Wish, and I remember her asking if it was legit... 13$ for 1 of them? It was hard tellingbher it was without a doubt going to be a bootleg.
Felt bad for her so I told her I'd nab one for her if they ever re-release.
So I did, got them on CD japan. Mere 1 hour later they were sold out too.

Nice of them to let you look at him.

Iskana (Hace 2 meses) #38603227Whatever the reason, it's awesome that you got him.
With all the terror around the release, the limited amount, and all the other stuff of the sales lasting less than a few hours on some shops.

Hikari-chan (Hace 2 meses) #38602876I checked the list and they are a partner shop, perhaps that's why they have them ... though figuya (also a partner shop) doesn't seem to have had them so I really don't know how Yorokonde can get them but I'm glad they did because I could get Bakugo thanks to that XD

Iskana (Hace 2 meses) #38602560Maybe they have suppliers in Japan? Like they're just a small "pop-off" from a Japanese store, which works with GSC.
Not sure, but everywhere I checked seemed to come to the same conclusion of it being a licensing issue outside Japan.
It's good that some sites still have the pre-orders for them though.

Hikari-chan (Hace 2 meses) #38585250Yorokonde, a german shop, has them though ... I preordered them there, they still seem to have stock (perhaps because they are not that well known?)
Iirc they are a GSC partner shop but not completly sure

Iskana (Hace 2 meses) #38566734I'm not sure, but I think the problem with the BnHA nendos is that there've been licensing issues outside Japan, and some other stuff with the company who was part in their production, making it so that GSC can only re-release them to Japanses stores, with a limited quantity available, instead of the usual made to order option.
Pretty sure the only reason why we're even able to get them, is because it's Japanese stores buying them, and then putting them on their international online shop, and not because they're actually "allowed" to sell them outside Japan.
I've not seen them on any US or Euro based sites, so it's only Japanese store who could get them.

It happened on my local distributor too, this morning my usual go to retailer close the order for bakugo and only have few left for deku. Lucky i dont collect nendos lol

So im guessing it is because high demand? I dont have much experience, i thought company like gsc, kaiyodo or medicom always have more stock left than bandai lol

But i dont understand with bandai scm saint seiya line, it sold out fast on japan online sites, but easily available on my local distributor, the opposite for their DB figuarts..

On the good smile company shop website (the Japan one, not the global one) on the BnHA nendoroids it says that the orders will close when stock has sold (quantity limited). So it means they are not made to order and they'll only make a certain amount.

I'm guessing for other stores GSC will have only given them a set number of stock. So basically there is a limited amount, but exactly how much they decided to make we do not know.

indian_summer22 (Hace 2 meses) #38554722Every store orders a specific number or gets an allocation. Think about, they cant accept an infinite amount of orders. The items need to be stored and processed. No store has infinite storage space or hands to pack orders. Plus they have to pay for them, whether all customers actually take them off their hands or not. As a retailer, you also need to prepare for these cases. Calculation is key.

This, as well as the figures company's factory/factories do have a physical limit of how many they can produce within the deadline. There's been a couple of cases before were popular standard release figures get sold out quickly and mainly it is so the stores and companies actually can produce the amount of figures without having to to cancel someone's order.
