Comentarios Colour transfer on my Strike Witches dakis

  • Kerorohace 5 años#2854498my girlfriend bought the Minna daki directly from Chara-Ani and had the same problem. She tried to get some refund but they said that already 2 weeks since shipping had passed and they can't do a refund anymore. ^^''
Some good news for me -- I'd bought two of the covers from Hobby Search and two of them from AmiAmi. I wrote pretty much the same letter to both. From AmiAmi, I got a boiler plate "it's-probably-because-you-stored-it-so-long-and-anwyay-it's-more-than-seven-days-so-sorry-we-can't-do-anything" Prompt, polite, well within their rights, and of completely no help at all. From Hobby Search, I got a mail saying "wait, let me talk to my manager". And then, that evening "we talked and decided that even though a year has gone by, you are a good customer, we'll give you 50% back in points". Is that awesome or what? Hobby Search had zero obligation towards me from a pure by-the-book standpoint, it was more than a year since I received the order, and it wasn't their fault at all in the first place (Chara-Ani's poor material/print choice), yet they went the extra mile to try and make amends. Hobby Search is just the best when it comes to customer service. Period. Awesome guys.

xShiroSakurahace 5 años#2851745I'm not an expert or anything in the field when it comes to paint transfer, but could it be that because they weren't unpacked, the fumes from the ink could not dry properly? Or maybe it was caused by a strange temperature? I'm terrible at explaining and those theories might sound silly, especially since those dakis are the only ones it happened to :(
It's probably something like what you're saying, but it's really bizarre, since you'd expect that the manufacturer would already have taken care of any airing out required. I've purchased 2nd hand circle covers that have been stored for > 3 years, and haven't had a problem. Similarly, I have all my other covers that have been in storage in the same place for the same amount of time, which don't have this problem.

akarinhace 5 años#2851778oh no :( I agree with the first person who commented- seems like the ink might have pressed onto the light parts due to temperature problems, or the dakimakuras itself are of low quality/defective. Did you purchase your previous dakimakuras from that company before? Because if you did, then it's probably the latter reason.
I've not got any other dakis from Chara-Ani -- I do have some other stuff (bed sheet, cushion cover), but Chara-Ani is big enough that the sourcing is different for all of these anyway. I'm certainly going to be super-wary of their dakimakura covers from now.

Moofinhace 5 años#2851748uh-oh, that looks terrible! is it possible to clean? in a wash machine or something?
akarinhace 5 años#2851778I think for now the best thing to do is wait for a response before trying to take those stains out. Hopefully they can replace them though. Good luck!
Yep, I'm definitely going to wait for a reply before I put them in the wash or anything. If I'm lucky enough to get an RMA of some sort, I don't want to have done anything more to the covers than unpacking and photographing.

This is terrible! I never heard of any such thing either...
Those dakis are so expensive, I hope you'll be able to receive some sort of assistance, especially because they were like that when unpacked from their original packaging.
