This is my first review and I hope to get better writing these in the future! I don't have an expensive camera, so I have to use my phone for this images!

Today, I'm going to review the Kirby Amiibo figure! When the Amiibo line was first announced and was compatible with Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS, I was excited. I HAD to purchase Kirby since he's been my main since Super Smash Bros. 64. Since Jigglypuff (My 2nd main on Smash) wasn't part of Wave 1, I settled with the cute puffball for now.

Note: Because Nintendo isn't a figure company, I won't be as critical with this as opposed to a figure company like GSC, Koto, or ALTER.

Note #2: I will skip reviewing the box because it's just a standard box with the Amiibo inside.

Adorable, isn't he? As far as sculpting goes, Kirby is sculpted to resemble his official art from the Super Smash bros. website. It's not an amazing and expressive pose, but it's a nice attempt seeing how he doesn't look too far off from the official art (This also applies to every Amiibo figure).

Kirby's base isn't amazing of the sort. His base, along with the other Amiibos, is the Super Smash Bros. symbol and it's a shame we can't get a good look at it for Kirby's case. This is due to the fact that Kirby can't be removed from his base since he's glued on to it. You would have to forcefully remove him from his base by force, that is if you want to.

If you noticed by now, Kirby suffers from some noticeable seamlines on his body, feet, and his hands. Kirby has a nasty one behind him and it seems like Nintendo forgot to fill the gap inside. However, Kirby is displayed facing the front so this isn't a big issue unless you like to display your figures facing their backs towards you.

I'm not sure what I'm looking at, but it seems that Nintendo painted Kirby's body first and then his feet while the feet were attached to him. You can see a bit of the paint in this spot. This same thing applies to his other foot.

Kirby's eyes and cheeks don't look painted by hand. They seem to be decals that were added to his face. The blue in his eyes lack a gradient shading and the whites in his eyes have a bit of blue on them (Similar to what you see in a colored image in a magazine or newspaper). His mouth is painted but Nintendo didn't paint the very edge on the bottom. It makes it seem like Kirby has teeth in some angles.

Despite these obvious flaws, I think Nintendo did a great job with Kirby. Albeit they're not a figure company, they're very well-done and true to their official art which is what Nintendo was going for. The functionality of the Amiibo line is truly amazing. You simply put the Amiibo on top of the rectangle symbol on the Wii U Gamepad and bam! Your Amiibo is now used! No pushing or pressing any buttons, simple and quick!

In addition to leveling up Kirby in Smash, I was also able to get a Kirby outfit for my Mii for Mario Kart 8! It is just adorable! This applies to Wave 1 Amiibos, you should check it out if you own MK8!

The Amiibo line is simply amazing. I'm loving how this isn't limited to just one game, but multiple games Nintendo has in store for these little figures!

Thanks for reading! ♥

Morohace 5 años#2489547I've been tempted to get the Samus one for my girlfriend as she adores her, but I've been leery of the quality. Seems like for something as simple as Kirby they aren't too bad though.

Bought Samus recently and she isn't "perfect" but she's one of the best amiibos imo. My only problem with Samus is that some of her Amiibos I saw when buying her were leaning slightly to the left (including mine). Paint job is decent. Some of the other Samus' paint jobs were "meh," so I'd suggest buying these in person rather than online if you want a "perfect" one.

Nice review! I bought the Princess Peach one because I love her design and I was impressed by the quality given that they're meant more for functionality than collecting. I was disappointed that a big red paint streak runs down the side of her hair just below the crown for a centimeter or so, though. Didn't notice until after I took her out of the box. Can't say the quality control is outstanding, but for the price they are fun collectibles.

Jazhace 5 años#2486754Yeah! You can't really notice the seams unless you look up close. I've heard some Amiibos have some defects. But i envy the guy who got Samus with two laser hands instead of one! She looks badass! xD

The interesting thing is that this Amiibo is selling for over 1k on eBay with over 70 bids!
Wii U is pretty pricey and the 3DS is sorta pricey! But it'll be worth it once you get one! owo

I SAW THIS. It's so funny.

It's funny... I never thought I'd grow so fond of the one my brother had bundled with his Smash preorder.

I wish I could say the same for some of the other Amiibo--particularly the ones I'm interested in buying for myself. Those unfitting and brightly-colored plastic supports Nintendo is using with many of the more dynamically-posed figures upright are bugging the heck out of me.

Besides the obvious molding issues, it's totally adorable. I think his mouth looks a lot better in person than in the promotional shot too, though I guess that also depends on the paint job. Nice review.

Gosh.. I knew the double cannon Samus would be popular, but wow!!
