Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix Announced For Western Release on Popular Nintendo Handheld System

SAN FRANCISCO & LONDON – July 2, 2014 – SEGA® of America, Inc. and SEGA® Europe, Ltd. today announced that Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix (working title), an enhanced version of the popular Japanese video game Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI 2, will launch in the West on Nintendo 3DS in 2015. A fan favorite franchise, Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix will mark the first release from the Project MIRAI series outside of Japan and also the first appearance of Hatsune Miku game on a Nintendo platform outside of Japan.

Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI Remix features characters rendered in beautiful stereoscopic 3D, with two different rhythm game modes (button and touch) and three difficulties per song. Players will enjoy a highly customizable experience with user customization options for button icons and sounds, character costumes and gear for the character rooms. Players can create and share personalized player cards that show off who you are as well as create customized dance routines to the songs, your own musical phrase and personalized comments about their favorite in-game videos, all via StreetPass™. The game also utilizes the AR card and photo capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS to bring characters to life in 3D.

“Hatsune Miku’s popularity in the West keeps growing, and we are proud to support such an amazing franchise with our games,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America.

Anyone without a Japanese 3DS can now get their Miku on, and I think that's beautiful.

xcupidxstuntxhace 6 años#2228579Have they specified it'll be physical in all regions, though? 'Cause it wouldn't be the first time a company has said "the West" and meant "North America". (I am super excited for both games, but considering the amount of games we get digital only whilst NA gets retail releases, I am wary xD)

They said it'll be physical in both the US and Europe, yes. I'm also super fed up with the digital-only treatment we've been getting, it's a trend that needs to die, like, now.

So many japanese niche games for Vita and 3DS have lately been DL only, especially in Europe, so I'm not having high hopes. I've yet to see info on european retail version for F2nd, but atleast you can import vita games. 3DS on the other hand is regionlocked... :C

Release in 2015 sound pretty reasonable for me, seeing how F2nd comes out only around December?

Gonna get it for sure, if it's a physical release. I've never had the chance to play the Mirai games so I'm excited :>.

I'm really happy! I want this game since the japanese release and I was sad that the game wasn't released at that time, it'll only be available on 2015 but I waited for so long now (and never expected that the game would be released in english) so, just a few more months are nothing xD
