  • victorviperhace 6 años#2197945I've often said that Strike Witches could have gotten a lot more popular appeal if they'd just toned down the fanservice by about 1%. Plus, the show prompted me to do much reading about WWII, allowing me to learn many things that really aren't commonly known about that period.
The smiling Lynette is starting to grow on me. She is the most gentle of all the witches, after all... :)

Yeah that's possible. In a way it kinda weeds out some idiots though. If you're watching it, you're either a creepy otaku type, or you're at least somewhat open-minded. It's easy to tell who's who when it comes to that. That's not to say all otaku are creepy, though.

As someone who's very interested in both World War periods, Strike Witches was always a series I wanted to try. I was a little afraid of what I had heard about it before I watched it, but since I have watched both seasons and the movie, it's pretty much my favorite series ever. All of the characters are so well fleshed-out; many, many series don't do as well developing their characters.

I ordered Lynne because of that face. I like her focused aiming pose too, but the other option captures her character really well. Plus it's just darn adorable. She's probably my third favorite witch, mostly because of her soft-spoken demeanor and her overall cuddliness :)

spasepeepole026hace 6 años#2195020I've said that so many times. People write it off because of how it looks at first glance, but there's a lot of value to the series for those who aren't dumb enough to discount it as soon as they lay eyes on it.
I'm very excited for the new Lynette figure. I really like that smiling face she comes with. It's a spot-on representation of her character.

This review is excellent! Perrine is on her way right now, and after reading what you've said about her, I'm even more excited for her arrival. I won't see her until September though, since I'll be in Europe until then, but when I get home, she and a few others will be waiting for me! :)

It is a shame that many people can't really get past all of the fanservice and the otaku-baiting in Strike Witches, because like you said the historical details are well-researched and are quite interesting.
Lynette is another one of my favorite witches, but I'm a little conflicted about her upcoming Alter figure. The Koto Lynette ITEM #19914 is just fine, and for all the other witches, I've gotten either the Alter or the Koto release, but not both. I'll probably end up getting her anyway, but it's too bad that Alter pushed her all the way to the end of the queue...

It's a shame she doesn't get much attention too. She's not my top favorite, but I do like her more than a lot of the other characters. That's not to say I dislike anyone (Eila), but Lynne deserves a lot more love from fans.

iPe7eRhace 6 años#2146279Very nice review! Still have to watch strike witches but she looks very nice!

    Thanks for the comment!

secretly-otakuhace 6 años#2146307No love for Lynette T___T? But she's the cutest... Ok, ok, in fact Yoshika is, but Lynette is 2nd in line.
I just love all the details Strike Witches have, from the references of historical characters, weapons and planes in real life to the kemonomimi :D. It is a shame I can't have figures of girls without pants in odd positions at home (due to little kids), because these figures represent much more than just a character.
Really looking forward for the day you'll review ITEM #78644, and faithful to Alter's tradition, it surely will take a while for her to be released. I insist, so little love for Lynette T___T.

Maakiehace 6 años#2145962Nice review again! Looks like she was worth the wait! I personally like her glasses the most. I have multiple figures that come with glasses and mostly they look blotchy or too metallic! :P
And seeing your picture of ITEM #42448 sparked me wanting her again. xD I never have been really actively looking for her, but I'm sure I want her in the future for my collection!
And the poll... *breathes heavily* I voted for the bottom option. :P

For her glasses, they are made of wire so they definitely look more realistic than a big chunky pair of plastic ones.

ITEM #42448 is a pretty interesting figure in her own right; her jetpack in particular is pretty neat. If you decide to get her someday, be prepared to spend at least an hour or so assembling that jetpack, as it comes in a million pieces!
