Entry is a duplicate of ENTRY #162349 .

This issue has been brought up in the past (alert/48270), but I didn't see the alert back then and also didn't feel like arguing about it after the fact.

However, the name in the original entry is correct. In fact, only the very first Shuuki Reitaisai has been labelled just that - every other one (2, 3, 4 and 5) has been officially registered with the year in the name.
This is also how it's referenced on pixiv, for instance (2, 3, 4 and 5).

In fact, I can't find the numbering system that is used for the regular Reitaisai anywhere, so it's hard to figure out where it came from in the first place.

However, the name with the year in the title is most certainly correct, so if there's no one opposed, I highly suggest we keep the title with the numbering system as alternative name and use the title with the year as the main one since we'd be making up names otherwise. In that case, I'd just go ahead and edit the other entries accordingly.

@MODs: Knowing this Touhou maniac and his research skills, he's probably right. I'm fine with either of those options as long as the other one is added as an alias.

Good point, though again, it seems like it's used for reasons of convenience due to character limits, for instance.

Edit: For instance, compare Sunshine Creation: twitter.com/cre...

It's clearly the same event so the entries have to be merged but I really don't know which version is the 'more official' one.
Personally I like the version with a number better because it's more consistent with other (types of) events. Maybe that's the reason why shops went with this one as well?

It would at least explain where that came from, but while stores are, as far as MFC is concerned, considered to be an official source, I honestly don't think their information should take precedence over a first-hand source since their writing is, as you say, probably just used for purposes of simplicity.

That degree of simplicity can, fortunately, be relegated to the alternative name field since, as far as I can tell, only the official names of events have been used for as long as the event-category has been there. For the main title, I think the spelling used by the most official source (namely, the event's official website) should be used, since they are more than likely the ones who know best what their event is actually called.
